Gift
Medium: Oil on Canvas
Size: 3ft × 3ft
Year: 2025
There was once a woman whose very name translated to Gift, though the offerings she spoke were initially mistaken for pyrite. To the untrained ear, her heavy words sounded like fool’s gold—worthless, perhaps even bitter. But time is a patient alchemist.
As the years dissolved, the harsh exterior of her speech fell away,
illuminating the core of what she had actually left behind: it wasn't malice at all, but the purest, most valuable gold. Genuine advice, wrapped in an unfriendly tone, is still a treasure if you have the wisdom to look beneath the surface.
This canvas is the visual metaphor for that paradox. Here, she emerges from the shadows as a subtly illuminated Tiv woman, caught in a permanent act of offering. She extends her hands to present a gift, her lips parted to blow a gentle kiss toward the viewer. It is a quiet revelation that her truth, no matter how sharply it was delivered, was born entirely out of an uncompromising love, never out of spite.
She stands as a testament to the quiet power of friction and honesty—a striking balance of fierce strength and delicate femininity. This painting is my riddle of gratitude; a silent, luminous ode to her, to the weight of her spoken “gold”, and to the enduring spirit of all Tiv women who refuse to dilute the truth.

Returns & Refunds Policy
Original Artwork
I want you to be completely happy with your artwork purchase. If you change your mind after receiving an original painting, you may request a return in accordance with the rights applicable to your order.
Please contact me within 14 days of receiving your artwork if you wish to return it. The artwork must be returned in its original condition and, where possible, in its original packaging.
Please contact me before sending anything back so that I can provide return instructions.
Return Conditions
To be eligible for a return, the artwork must:
Be returned in the condition in which it was received.
Not have been altered, damaged, stretched, framed, reframed or otherwise modified after delivery.
Be securely packaged to prevent damage during return transit.
Include all original packaging and accompanying materials where reasonably possible.
You are responsible for taking reasonable care of the artwork while it is in your possession and during any return arranged by you.
Return Shipping
Unless the artwork is faulty, damaged on arrival, or does not correspond with the order, return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.
For larger, framed or high-value artwork, please contact me before arranging return shipping. I may require the use of an appropriate specialist art courier to ensure the work is adequately protected.
I strongly recommend using a tracked and insured delivery service when returning artwork.
Refunds
Once the returned artwork has been received and inspected, I will confirm whether the return has been accepted.
Where a refund is due, it will normally be made using the original payment method. Refunds will be processed promptly and within the timeframe required by applicable UK consumer law.
The original standard delivery charge will be refunded where required by law. If you selected a more expensive delivery option than the standard delivery service offered, the additional cost may not be refundable.
Artwork Damaged During Return
The customer is responsible for taking reasonable care of the artwork while returning it.
If artwork is damaged because it was inadequately packaged or handled during a return arranged by the customer, the cost of the damage may be deducted from any refund, where permitted by law.
Please retain photographs of the artwork and packaging and proof of postage until your return has been completed.
Faulty or Damaged Artwork
If your artwork arrives damaged or has a fault, please contact me as soon as possible, ideally within 48 hours of delivery, with photographs of the artwork and its packaging.
I will work with you to resolve the issue and, where appropriate, arrange a replacement, repair or refund in accordance with your statutory rights.
You will not be responsible for return postage where the artwork is faulty, damaged in transit, or does not match the description or order.
Bespoke & Commissioned Artwork
Because commissioned and personalised artwork is created specifically for an individual customer, it may not be eligible for cancellation or return simply because you have changed your mind, where the law permits this exclusion.
However, commissioned artwork remains subject to your statutory rights if it is faulty, damaged, not as agreed, or otherwise does not conform to the contract.
The terms for individual commissions, including deposits, approval stages, delivery and cancellation, will be agreed separately before work begins.
Original vs Reproductions
This policy applies to original paintings and artwork purchased directly from this website. Any special conditions relating to prints, limited editions or other products will be stated on the relevant product page.
Your Statutory Rights
Nothing in this policy affects or limits any rights you may have under applicable UK consumer law. Where you have a statutory right to cancel, return, repair, replacement or refund, those rights are not affected by this policy.
If you have any questions about returning an artwork or requesting a refund, please contact me before sending the artwork back.

UK Delivery
All original paintings and artwork are carefully packaged to ensure they arrive safely and securely.
Artwork is normally dispatched within 3–5 working days of receiving cleared payment. Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive confirmation and tracking details where available.
Smaller artworks are generally sent using a tracked delivery service. Larger, framed, particularly fragile, or higher-value works may be sent using a specialist art courier to ensure appropriate handling.
Delivery within the UK will normally take 1–3 working days after dispatch, although delivery times may vary depending on the courier and destination.
Packaging
Each artwork is professionally packaged according to its size, medium and framing. This may include protective wrapping, corner protection, rigid boards, reinforced outer packaging and, where appropriate, a purpose-built crate.
We take every reasonable precaution to ensure your artwork reaches you in excellent condition.
International Delivery
International orders are welcome. Shipping costs and delivery arrangements depend on the destination, size, weight and value of the artwork.
International deliveries are sent using a tracked service or specialist art courier where appropriate. Please contact me before purchasing particularly large, fragile or high-value works so that I can confirm the most suitable shipping method and provide an accurate shipping quotation.
Please note that international delivery times are estimates and may be affected by customs clearance or other circumstances outside my control.
Customs, Duties & Taxes
For deliveries outside the UK, the recipient is responsible for any import duties, customs charges, local taxes, VAT or other fees imposed by the destination country.
These charges are not included in the artwork price or standard shipping charge unless expressly stated otherwise.
I cannot be responsible for delays caused by customs or for charges imposed by the destination country's authorities.
Damage in Transit
All artwork is carefully inspected and securely packaged before dispatch.
If your artwork arrives damaged, please:
Photograph the outer packaging before opening it, if possible.
Photograph the packaging and artwork clearly, including any visible damage.
Keep all packaging materials.

This information may be required when making a claim with the delivery company or insurer.
Please do not dispose of the packaging until the matter has been resolved.

Please ensure that your delivery address and contact details are correct when placing your order.
If an order is returned because an incorrect or incomplete address was provided, additional postage may be payable before the artwork can be resent.
